Predominantly BAME, explicitly inclusive.
Our community reflects the streets of Batley and Dewsbury - proudly diverse, faith- and culture-respectful by default. Whoever walks through the door is one of us.
Happy MOMents started in 2018 around a kitchen table in Batley - a handful of moms who couldn’t find the kind of community they needed, so they built it. We registered as a CIO in June 2023 and now support 1,200+ moms and families across North Kirklees.
Our community reflects the streets of Batley and Dewsbury - proudly diverse, faith- and culture-respectful by default. Whoever walks through the door is one of us.
We are 100% volunteer-led - most of our team are moms who came to a session, stayed, and now hold the space for the next person. That's the model.
Sessions are free, drop-in, and built for tired mornings. We pair peer support with NHS-aligned guidance from health visitors, midwives and trained infant-massage instructors.
“The first session was six of us in a church hall, with a kettle and a packet of digestives. Within a year we’d outgrown the room. Within five we were a CIO. The thing that made it work wasn’t the funding - it was that nobody was being talked at. We were just listening to each other.”
Our trustee board oversees governance, safeguarding and finances. They’re moms, professionals and community members - most still volunteer at sessions.
Real names and bios coming soon. In the meantime, board questions go to admin@happymoments.org.uk.
Whether you want to come to a session, volunteer at one, donate towards venue costs, or partner with us as an organisation - every route in starts with hello.
